Car Radio Repair Masterclass
Vintage tube and hybrid radios, transistor receivers with cassette or CD mechanisms, and modern head units with vehicle integration. Learn to identify the design, distinguish faults and prepare a documented repair plan.
Choose a full track or the complete program
The complete program includes all three tracks and all twelve mini courses. Each track has four mini courses. Every track has 16 lessons, four mini courses and two free previews. Begin with the two free sample lessons in any track.
Prerequisites: electronics fundamentals, schematic-reading skills and appropriate supervised practical training before any internal equipment work. This written course does not include instructor-supervised labs, original repair videos or model-specific service manuals.

Choose a starting route by symptom
- Unknown vintage radio: start with identity, voltage and ground polarity.
- Buzzing but silent tube receiver: study the supply and audio paths separately.
- No power or repeated fuse failure: study protected power prerequisites; stop repeated powering.
- No sound or one missing channel: map settings, audio path, amplifier and load.
- Weak reception: compare band, location and the antenna system.
- Noise tied to engine behavior: distinguish receiver, installation and vehicle electrical causes.
- Cassette speed or CD read problems: separate mechanics, media and electronics.
- USB, Bluetooth or phone integration: start with exact model compatibility and connection functions.
- Factory audio or camera missing after replacement: review vehicle-specific integration.
Study one mini course at a time, keep the case worksheets and complete a capstone for each track. Reading and quiz completion do not establish hands-on repair competence.
Supervised low-voltage practice objectives
- Identify components and trace a circuit on a disconnected instructor-approved trainer.
- Use supplied measurements to calculate voltage drop and distinguish source from load conditions.
- Map compatible audio routing with a documented low-voltage training system.
- Compare file and cable compatibility using approved test media on an identified receiver.
An instructor must approve the equipment, ratings and procedure. Do not use unidentified receivers or vehicle wiring for introductory practice.
- Evidence-led lessons with objectives, worked cases and practical-planning tasks. Every track has a searchable lesson directory, original fault cases, two Q&A entries per lesson, a shared service glossary and a original study map.
- Quizzes with answer explanations and browser completion records.
- Printable diagnostic worksheets and practice prompts for intake, diagnosis, parts compatibility, quotes and handovers.
- One capstone for each track and a three-case portfolio for the combined program.
Completion records describe written learning activities. They do not verify hands-on servicing competence.
