Greetings and introductions

Brazilian Portuguese is a regional form of Portuguese, not a separate language called Brazilian. Olá is a general hello, and Bom dia means good morning. Meu nome é introduces a name. Obrigado is traditionally used by a male speaker and obrigada by a female speaker.

Practise both directions: recognize the target phrase, then produce it from its meaning. Repeat after available audio, cover the text, and try again. Audio availability depends on your browser’s installed voices; this tool does not grade pronunciation.
