Sketch and make a cut list

Start with the finished dimensions and the function of the object. Draw front and side views and label thicknesses. A cut list names each part, its quantity and its dimensions.

Actual lumber dimensions may differ from nominal names. Confirm measurements at purchase and account for kerf, defects and grain direction. This course teaches planning; tool operation requires task-specific training.
