Voltage Units & Calculator
Voltage is electrical potential difference. Converting units does not convert an AC RMS measurement into a peak measurement.
Detailed explanation & worked examples
Conversion method
Base value = input × source factor + source offset. Output = (base value − target offset) ÷ target factor. Only units from this family can be converted together.
Worked example
For the first two units below: 1 Millivolt becomes 0.00100000 Volt.
| Unit | Multiplier | Offset |
|---|---|---|
| Millivolt | 0.001 | 0 |
| Volt | 1 | 0 |
| Kilovolt | 1000 | 0 |
Voltage is electrical potential difference. Converting units does not convert an AC RMS measurement into a peak measurement.
